Klaipedos culture communication centre‘s (KCCC) Exhibition house (Didžioji Vandens st. 2) in April invites you to guided tours through exhibitions, creative activities and family weekends. People of every age and interest are invited to learn various art techniques and to participate in art perceiving events.

Excursion Wednesdays

Wednesdays in Exhibition house are special, because on that day all exhibitions are for free. This year Exhibition house introduces a novelty – on Wednesdays there will be guided tours through exhibitions for pupils and student groups. This chance should be used by all creative teachers – it is an amazing opportunity to broaden students art educational form.

Free guided tours through exhibitions for students and pupils will be on April 1st, 8th, 15th. Registration is required by e-mail gabija@kkkc.lt

Educational Thursdays for adults

April Thursdays in Exhibition house are for adult creative self-expression. KCCC manager of cultural activity Gabija Pyragaitė invites locals to educational activities where they will be introduced to opportunity to create using non-traditional tools.

1p.m. 2nd April, Activity with paper: you will hear a lot about paper: its types, formats, making of paper. Legend says that when you make 1000 cranes (Japanese: orizuru) your wish will be granted. During activity we will learn to make origami, will be introduced to its origin and making techniques.

1p.m. 9th April, Workshop of original ideas: 10 uses of buttons. Simple button using imagination can become a true piece of art. During activity we will talk about creative uses of buttons.

1p.m. 16th April, Assemblage workshop. Assemblage is a spatial creation made of things which are secured to framed plane or put into a box.

1p.m. 30th April. Collage workshop. Collage is a special composition made from various materials (ex. Paper, photographs, sand, straw), and glued to paper or cloth. It‘s often combined with drawings and paintings.

Family weekends „Saturdays for locals“

KCCC Exhibition house invites to participate in educational family activities, to communicate with art as well as to become involved in creative process and to spend your weekend afternoon with your children.

April 4th 1p.m. family weekend „Colors research“.  During the activity you will be introduced to meaning of color and will make personal color map for yourself or your family member.

April 11th 1p.m. family weekend „Art myths and legends“. Taking inspiration from famous creators biographies we will try to reflect their work in our creations.
