All this is not a fantasy: the life and work of Adolfas Mekas
29th November and 1-2 December is arranged a film retrospective by Adolfas Mekas and his students at KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didzioji Vandens str. 2).
Adolfas Mekas is a very interesting figure who usually was left in a shadow of his brother Jonas Mekas. But he is a must-to-know person. He is called as a comic iconoclast of independent American cinema. He participated in the movement of Fluxus together with Yoko Ono. Together with his brother they established an influential magazine “Film Culture”, joined a group of “New American Cinema”. He was a professor of cinema who spread this virus between his students and others who could hear him talking about it.
Join a week of avant-garde and get closer to Adolfas Mekas.
