Long trip to Seaside
Klaipėda is a city in Lithuania situated at the mouth of the Dane River where it flows into theBaltic Sea. It is the third largest city in Lithuania and the capital of Klaipeda County.
1252 is considered the beginning of Klaipėda. It is when a pact was signed to build a castle at the confluence of rivers Memelis (or Nemunas) and Danė, followed by building a city around the castle within two years.
The city and region of Klaipėda, symbol of Lithuania as a marine country, is a strategic territory for the country’s economy, celebrate 760-year anniversary in 2012.
