80 YEARS ANNIVERSARY FOR LAU. PAINTING. DISCOVERIES OF DIFFERENT GENERATIONS

Discoveries of different generations

Lithuanian Artists’ Association (LAA) celebrates its important  80th  anniversary. For the occasion, all galleries of the Artists’ Association in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Panevėžys organize exclusive projects and one-author exhibitions.

To contribute to celebration of Lithuanian Artists’ Association anniversary, its Klaipėda branch presents an exclusive exhibition of paintings „ALL GENERATIONS”.  The main aim of this exhibition – is to gather painters of different generations and their respective creative ideas.  One of the most active organisations of painters presents artworks of original painters – members of Klaipėda, Vilnius and Kaunas branches of Lithuanian Artists’ Association. This exhibition will provide the audience with an opportunity to see the best paintings of representatives of different generations – both elder and younger ones: Bronius Gražys, Dalia Kasčiūnaitė, Sigita Maslauskaitė, Linas Liandzbergis from Vilnius, artists from Kaunas Audronė Petrašiūnaitė, Rolandas Karalius, Elena Balsiukaitė-Brazdžiūnienė, Aušra Barzdukaitė-Vaitkūnienė, Arvydas Martinaitis and painters from Klaipėda Virginijus Viningas, Rodion Petrov, Edvardas Malinauskas, Rytis Martinionis and Liudvikas Natalevičius.

All participants of the exhibition have their distinctive, individual style; employ a wide scale of techniques to express emotions. Their artworks belong to quite different genres and styles, representing unique amplitude of ideas, vision and perception of the world. Although the paintings make rather eclectic collection of styles, they attract by impressive formats, spectacular visual solutions in terms of colour and composition.  Here, one can find Klaipėda sea motifs by E. Malinauskas characterised by suggestion and realistic interpretation; eye-catching transparent, even more realistic than the reality itself portraits in interior by R. Petrov; expressionistic dramatic compositions by  S. Maslauskaitė, A. Petrašiūnaitė, V. Viningas  or indulge into the sense of wholeness of language of painting in abstractions by D. Kasčiūnaitė, A. Martinaitis.  The diversity of tools and techniques of expression is approached in different and individual manner – ranging from surrealistic artworks by L. Natalevičius, L. Liandzbergis, R. Martinionis to nostalgic and conceptual paintings by E. Balsiukaitė, A. Barzdukaitė.

The exhibition of paintings distinctly reveals the inexhaustible source, which combines the efforts of different generations of painters, their search and discoveries into a whole. They are not bound by tradition; nevertheless they have felt the importance of traditions that at the same time enable unfolding of their individualities.
