Along with the exhibition, the author’s reflection “Dynamic Stereotype” will be exposed. It will reveal sculptural photography, artistic habits, objects and spaces.

AQUEOUS project is a unique exhibition of underwater images of well-known Lithuanian swimming champions. The Lithuanian swimmers excellently prove themselves in the Olympics, championships, and other international competitions, thus, the daily public interest in the competitive swimming and its representatives is constantly growing. The photos show the relationship between a human and water, depict the present-day swimming sport of our country, and memorialize several generations of Lithuanian swimmers.

Underwater portraits of swimmers are a new look of national photography at a person and a passion of his/her life – water. While overviewing the history of Lithuanian photography, it should be noted that there are quite few underwater photographers inLithuania. The exhibited photographs have artistic and residual value. This unique portrait photography of swimmers conveys to the public the relationship of swimmers with their aspirations, everyday life, and philosophies in another, unexpected perspective – through their first fusion with water. This is an extraordinary labour-intensive work, which requires highaccuracy and love for photography and depicted swimmers. In her photographs, R. Stankevičiūtė-Kazakevičienė has over and over revealed emotions of perpetuated people and colours of their inner worlds. For the project proposes, the photographer has completed a diving course, received a diver’s license necessary to create underwater swimmers’ portraits. The photography to be exhibited is based on the use of modern technology, which gives a sense of liveliness and conveys the emotion of an underwater image.

The curator of the exhibition is President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus.
