EGLĖ VITKUTĖ “LIVE SPOTS. KLAIPĖDA”

A participatory social project project “Live spots. Klaipėda” is to be presented on Thursday of February the 15th of 2018, at 17 o’clock in KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens st. 2, Klaipėda).

KCCC Exhibition Hall is being adjusted to Klaipėda Festival of Lights, so this exhibition is going to take place on February 15 – 17; the visitors are welcome from 2:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.

“Live spots. Klaipėda” is a participationary social project which is a cycle of creative workshops together with an interactive website www.gyvitaskai.com aimed at encouraging Klaipėda city citizens and guests of the city to share their impressions, experiences and observations about their memorable places in Klaipėda. It helps to unveil a unique city’s face expressed personally by the people themselves and to highlight the emotional attraction points of the seaport.

The city’s map on the website not only allows you to share your own stories, but also find out intriguing facts from the city‘s past and see which Klaipėda’s space is being “the most vibrant” at different points in time. These historic spots focus mainly on the personal experiences of the city’s citizens and visitors. The map is constantly being changed by the stories of the people just as the population is changing together with the city itself.

In the presentation of the project at the KCCC Exhibition Hall, the exhibition consists of two parts. The first part is dedicated to the website, i.e., the visitors will not only be able to test it and get acquainted with the material published there, but they will also will be able to share their own stories. The second part of the exposition will consist of the sets of stories recorded during the project and the moments captured by the camera of photographer living in Klaipėda Astas Poškienė from the daily life that is the reflection of the city.

KCCC project “Live spots. Klaipėda” is organized in cooperation with the Public Organization Design Education Laboratory. It is a part of a resident programme AIR KCCC / KKKC ETERIS in 2017. The project is partially supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
