Laurynas Katkus

Klaipeda Culture Communication Centre is collaborating with Künstlerhaus Lukas (Ahrenshoop, Germany) in exchanging artist. In May is going to residence Laurynas Katkus.

Laurynas Katkus (b. 1972) is a writer and translator based in Vilnius. Laurynas studied Lithuanian literature and language at the University of Vilnius and comparative literature in Vilnius and Leipzig. Poetry books „Tauchstunden“ (2003) and „Alle Richtungen“ (2009) by L. Katkus had been presented in Germany and Austria. He is interested in Prussian Lithuanian literature and culture, he wrote study about poetry of German writer Johannes Bobrowski. L. Katkus translated famous poem “Annie of Tharaw” of Simon Dach.

During the residence in Ahrenshoop Laurynas Katkus will work on previous projects and present his writings on 26^th May.
