RODION PETROFF’S EXHIBITION „NOISE“

Rodion Petroff’s exhibition „Noise“ will be opened at the KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda) on Friday, 7th of December 2018, at 6 PM.

Rodion Petroff’s exhibition „Noise“ narrowly presents artist’s searches of creative work. In this exhibition R. Petroff displays the newest works, projections and installations of author’s techniques and hyperrealistic painting.

Art critic Jolanta Marcišauskytė-Jurašienė looks at R. Petroff’s creative work through the prism of noise analysis. ‘Rodion Petroff’s works of art presented at the exhibition captures your attention: what is the noise in today’s life? Are we able to hear it when so much information circulates around us? How would the noise look like if it took a visual form? The author tries not only to deconstruct the shapes of noise but also to feel its essence – the constant competition between different narratives. From iconic cultural images, recognizable faces of characters to transformation of abstract forms into something else, unknown, however intriguing, symbolic, as if accidentally fallen out of personal or collective subconsciousness or out of artist’s beard, who stopped in order to observe schizophrenic reality.’

Art critic Vaida Stepanovaitė appreciates R. Petroff’s hyperrealistic projections as symbols of human archetypal dualism. According to her, unrecognisable female side of man’s personality and unrecognisable male side of woman’s personality merge together in creative works. The state of duality gives the sense to human’s need of hiding, covering ourselves or seeking to adapt, to become the reflection of environment.

‘I interact with art history and herewith tell of autobiography in my new works,’ states Rodion Petroff.
