EXHIBITION “THE ARCHITECTURE OF KLAIPĖDA 2018. CONTEXT”: REVIEW OF WORKS OF THE ARCHITECTS

An annual exhibition of the works of the architects “The Architecture of Klaipėda 2018. Context” will be opened at the KKKC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda) on the 28th of June, 2019, Friday, at 5.30 PM and an accompanying publication will be presented.

The main part of the exhibition will be the review of the annual production of the architects. Its topics – architectural competitions, projects, realisations and academic works. The projects prepared and implemented in Klaipėda, as well as the works of architects in other cities of Lithuania that have become laureates of the republican architectural competitions are exhibited.

Each project, present in the exhibition, has its own context, history, experiences, which had an impact on the ideas and solutions of the projects. Empty planchettes, having given the base for the whole exhibition and helping organically combine the different project stages into a common point, common denominator, and common context, will reflect this at the exhibition-installation.

The main objective of the exhibition of the architecture of Klaipėda remains the same – to review the annual work results of the architects in Klaipėda and the most successful works of architects abroad, while presenting and alternative approach the architecture of Klaipėda.

The organiser of the exhibition: Klaipėda District Organisation of the Architects’ Association of Lithuania, curator – architect Andrius Laurinaitis.

The project is partially funded by: Lithuanian Council for Culture, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, Klaipėda City Municipality.

The exhibition will be open until the 28th of July, 2019

Working hours of KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda): Wednesday – Sunday 11 AM – 7 PM (not open on public holidays).

The event will be photographed and filmed, therefore, we would like to inform that the visitors may be seen in the pictures and video recordings from the event, and that these photographs and video recordings may be made public on social media or the press.
