OBJECT – FROM TANGIBLE MATTER TO ABSTRACT SHAPE ON THE FLAT
On January 28th students of Klaipėda Martynas Mažvydas Progymnasium visited currently available Latvian artist’s Gints Gabrans’s exhibition “Mutant selection”, familiarized with project’s idea, drew silhouettes in one of exposition halls and in this way they took a hand in creative evolution. Later during alternative educational activity “Hot wax, cold water” young KCCC Exhibition Hall’s visitors step by step experienced the development stages of tangible object’s evolution from substantial thing to the visual impress on the flat. The conversion of solid candle into liquid wax, moulding it into the cold water and transformation into a solid, abstract object that was formed by self-organization principle, photographing the object, using the photograph for monotype technique – all these stages visually show us how wax looses its primitive recognisable shape and becomes an abstraction, a line or a spot at monotype imprints.
We thank young participants for great moments and patience while implementing the tasks.
From here you can take out interesting art experiences.
