SATURDAY‘S CREATIVE ACTIVITY – GAMES BASED ON THE BALANCE OF SCIENCE AND NATURE
While the opened Julijonas Urbonas exhibition „Prototypes of Alternative Realities“ at KCCC Exhibition Hall transforms the laboratory calculations and created mechanisms into conceptual art objects, we tried to overcome gravity. This time during the creative activities we suggested the families to familiarise with the earth art and the existing laws of nature.
This XXth century‘s post-modernism art branch is oriented to human‘s (artist‘s) dialogue with nature and weigh the creation‘s enduring value as an art object: here it surrenders to the time erosion being the contrast to the exposition art – it is being only documented. Earth art creators reject artificial materials and use basic natural stock and focus on the process of creation itself.
During the creative activity for families on the 5th of March participants tried one of the earth art areas – stone balancing. Challenging process of creating dimensional objects, when one can rely on friction and the discovered equilibrium points, demands patience, concentration and introversion and allows to create the most unexpected structures.
